Tommy Greene

Journalist

Tommy is a freelance journalist. His recent work has been published with The Guardian, The Irish Times, Al Jazeera, The Detail, The Belfast Telegraph, openDemocracy, WIRED, Private Eye, the Irish News, The Journal and TBIJ, among other outlets.

He was previously a Fellow with the Bertha Foundation. He has worked on award-winning investigations into whistleblowing protections for NHS workers, Covid-19 pandemic transparency, cross-border waste dumping and supply chains. Over recent years, his reporting at Lough Neagh has shone a light on a range of issues impacting the largest freshwater body in this part of Europe, helping to shape a renewed public conversation around its ownership and governance. This research has laid the foundations for a book-length investigation, Troubled Waters, which is due to be published by Merrion Press.

His SCI Fellowship project investigates labour issues within a specific region of Ireland.
