Saiful Huq Omi
Saiful is a photographer, filmmaker, educator and human rights activist from Bangladesh.
He has been involved in the student movements in Bangladesh and involved in the movement for the war crimes tribunal of the 1971 war. Since 2008 he has been working on the issue of the Rohingya people of Myanmar.
The Fellowship has allowed Saiful to develop his capacity and skills to better engage on the Rohingya issue and to build the skills and capacity of Rohingya themselves to disseminate information and advocate.
During the fellowship he has produced two photographic books capturing the situation of the Rohingya. The most recent book can be purchased here. He is now working on the completion of a documentary film.
