Mohamed Omar

Mohamed has significant personal and professional experience working with asylum seekers and refugees which has given him a unique insight into psychological impact and the trauma of people seeking asylum in UK.

In 2022 he joined Refugee Action as Head of Experts by Experience & Partnerships.

Mohamed is former Policy and Development Officer (Refugees) at the Mental Health Foundation which enables delivery of change working with partners including individuals, groups and communities to support and empower them.

He is passionately committed to supporting the development of a better understanding of mental health and support needs of refugees and asylum seekers, and its impact in building a new life based on resilience, positive relationship with agencies, communities and socially.
