Dustin Kramer
Since completing an SCI fellowship, Dustin has been working to support the advocacy of organisations and movements within a variety of countries in Africa, Asia, and Latin America, with the International Budget Partnership.
He is the former Deputy General Secretary of the Social Justice Coalition (SJC), a social movement of poor communities in South Africa, tackling issues of urban inequality and the criminal justice system.
Along with his SJC colleague Phumeza Mlungwana, Dustin felt there was insufficient study of transformative change processes.
They used their fellowship to examine the challenges that leaders and activists face in building mass movements and campaigns for transformational change and the bigger political questions these activists are grappling with today. Their international research resulted in the book Fragments of Activism.
